Chemical engineering is a branch of engineering that applies physical sciences (physics and chemistry) and life sciences (microbiology and biochemistry) together with applied mathematics and economics to produce, transform, transport, and properly use chemicals, materials and energy.
Chemical Engineering has made a scientific breakthrough by creating synthetic replacements for our limited natural materials and resources. The study of chemical engineering involves manufacturing plastics, paints, fuels, fibers, medicines, fertilizers, semiconductors, paper, and other types of chemicals by carrying out chemical reactions and purifications; inventing cleaner technologies for protecting the environment; and finding ways to recycle the waste products.
To pursue an undergraduate course in chemical engineering, candidates should be 10+2 pass with 50% marks in physics, chemistry and mathematics from recognized Board examination. Most of the colleges offer admission on the basis of score obtained in national/state level entrance test.
To pursue a postgraduate course in chemical engineering, candidates should have Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering/Bachelor in Technology in chemical engineering from recognized University.
