You are what you eat. This is Native Path Collagen Protein especially so when considering the fats we eat. Shortly after eating any fat it shows up in the membranes of your cells where its metabolic fate is quickly determined.
Fatty acids come in many subtle variations of molecular arrangements but primarily there are two categories: Omega 3 fatty acids and omega 6 fatty acids.
Omega 3 in oily fish
Omega 3 fatty acids are found mainly in marine life and a few land plants. They are most highly concentrated in oily fish like mackerel, sardines and tuna.
Omega 6 in land based vegetable oils
Omega 6 fatty acids on the other hand are more commonly found in land based vegetable oils like corn oil and in animal foods raised on land-based feed.
Fish oils are the primary source of omega 3 however most of us do not consume sufficient. Most of us our grossly deficient of omega 3. This can lead to serious health problems because omega 3 counteracts blood platelet clumping, dilates blood vessels and reduces inflammation and cell damage.
Omega 3 fish oils will also counteract the over consumption of the less favorable omega 6 in our body. An excess of omega 6 will lead to the blood becoming sticky, blood vessels constricting and an increase in inflammation.
