Cons for Printed News:
In some or most of the newspapers the advertisement space may be expensive which prohibits people from advertising through the newspaper.
2. It is analogue:
As the Internet, Television or Radio are used widely by many people , so advertisers prefer newspaper less for advertisement compared to Internet and other medias.
3. Fake news:
In some cases, the news published in the newspapers especially on the front page could be wrong. The news are even twisted and distorted to create a bad impression of an individual or company.
Pros for online newspapers:
1. Its immediately accessible:
Instead of waiting for the paper boy to come around in the morning and drop the paper off at your door step you can easily go on your computer, phone, or tablet to see what the latest news is. This also includes things that have happened that day. Online news is currently circulating and changing allowing you to get the max amount of information in the smallest amount of time possible.
2. Lacking the physical aspect:
In the technology generation with the ability to work an iPhone before being able to walk. With hard copy newspapers slowly dying it seems like older generations will be force to assimilate to online news.
3. It’s free:
The majority of online news, unless its magazine subscriptions, is free unlike having to pay for the newspaper to be delivered to your house. I’m not sure that it’s a do or die money saving technique, but for those individuals who want to save where its easy switching to online is definitely something to look into.
Cons for online newspaper:
Just because the article is online, it doesn’t mean it is no longer biased. Most media is biased views expressed are almost always one sided.
With more and more news outlets putting a greater focus on providing online news services, this could result in a cut in jobs, as to operate on the internet, fewer personnel are required.
3. Website crashed:
Websites could crash if lots of people try accessing them for a major news story; if the site crashes, nobody can access it for a short while.
4. Technical issues:
Some technical issues regarding the website could occur, resulting in the website having to go offline temporarily. This will ultimately mean that people will not be able to access the website, and so could turn to competitors of the offline news site.
