Malnutrition is not the same thing as hunger, although they often go together. People who are chronically malnourished lack the nutrients needed for proper health and development. People who go hungry all the time are likely to be underweight, weighing significantly less than an average person of their size.
The best way to prevent malnutrition:
1. plenty of fruit and vegetables.
2. plenty of starchy foods such as bread, rice, potatoes, pasta.
3. some milk and dairy foods or non-dairy alternatives.
4. some sources of protein, such as meat, fish, eggs and beans.
