We organize tours in Paraguay and neighboring countries in South America with a focus on fauna and ecology. Current destinations: Brazil, Chile, Paraguay, Argentina, Bolivia, and Peru. Tours to the rugged Chaco, Pantanal, Amazon, etc. are also welcome. The starting point for tours is a 13-hectare farm with 10 hectares of natural forest near Villarrica, Departamento Guairá, Paraguay. The finca is located 140 km east-southeast of Asunción, Paraguay. The finca is located on the edge of the Cordillera del Ybytyruzú, one of the last accessible forest areas in eastern Paraguay. Accommodation is available on the finca. In the Ybytyruzú Mountains, frogs and other amphibians can be observed and photographed in pristine stream systems. On the finca, amphibians and reptiles can be housed in terrariums and photographed in a mini photo studio. We have been working with reptiles and amphibians for 50 years. Costs: 150 US$ basic cost per day for a guide (fluent in English + German) versed in biology and conservation ecology, who doubles as driver, including provision of special 4x4 vehicle. Extras costs are limited to 50 c/km, accommodation, entrance fees, tolls, use of aluminum canoes (choice of 2, with new outboard motor on request), various trailers for longer trips with additional equipment, etc. Ideal group size: 2-4 people. Vehicles with 6 seats + driver available. For larger groups, several 4x4 vehicles can be booked. Airport transfer possible.
