Knee Surgery | |
The largest joint in your body is your knee joint. The three bones (femur/thigh, tibia/shin and patella/kneecap) that comprise your knee can suffer fractures or dislocations. The meniscus, which consists of two wedge-shaped cartilage sections acting as shock absorbers between your thigh and shin, can be torn. This destabilizes the knee joint. Other common knee injuries include ligament tears to the ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) and others (MCL, LCL and PCL) that work together to stabilize the knees during movement. | |
