Self-Esteem and Self-Acceptance
A healthy self-esteem is one that stands in the middle of the spectrum. But, what happens when one thinks too highly of himself or doesn’t think much of himself at all?
Excessively high self-esteem results in a sense of entitlement and failure to learn from one’s mistakes. A person believes the world owes him/her, and that he/she deserves everything good all the time.
On the other extreme, a low self-esteem can lead a person to tolerate abusive treatment, whether on a personal or professional level. It can also cause them to fall short on their potential, or what they could achieve.
