What Size of Fibroid Is Considered Normal?
There’s no strict “normal” size for uterine fibroids, but many that measure under about 2–3 cm (20–30 mm) are often asymptomatic and found incidentally. Fibroids measuring around 5–10 cm (50–100 mm) are more likely to cause symptoms—such as heavy bleeding, pelvic pressure, or fertility issues, especially if their number, location or rapid growth add complexity. When considering treatment, size is just one factor. Location, number of fibroids, symptoms, and reproductive goals all matter in deciding whether intervention is necessary. ![]()
