Many, including scientists, skeptics, atheists, non-believers, etc., etc., require a sign because they can't believe what they've read or heard; in some cases, God's word is nonsense to them. It doesn’t matter whether it is many years ago, today (2025+) or in the future, many ask for visual, verifiable proof that God exists; they want to see and touch Him (doubting Thomas). Nothing has changed; see Matthew 12:38 below.. Food for thought: The natural man must know in order to believe; the spiritual man must believe in order to know. Many have not been given eyes to see or ears to hear. To hear and see what? The truths from His word. Is it part of God's plan? You decide. I believe many have not been given the gifts from God to discern His truths for their own protection. Remember what Christ said while nailed to the cross? Forgive them Father, for they know not what they do. (Luke 23:34); (Acts 3:13-17 done in ignorance); (2 Thessalonians 2:9-13 should believe a lie, why? For their own protection, maybe? Hmm???) Matthew 12:38 Then certain of the scribes and of the Pharisees answered, saying, Master, we would see a sign from thee. [They wanted Christ to show them a miracle again, because they would not believe the miracles they had seen or heard up to then, plus, God in the flesh was standing before them. What else did they need to see? What did Christ say in the wilderness when tempted by Satan? Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God, Luke 4:12]! Matthew 12:39 But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas: [Who seeks after a sign? Jesus told them, the only sign they have already been given is Jonah being in the belly of the whale for three nights. Jonah means (Dove) which is symbolic of the Holy Spirit. Christ was in the tomb three days and nights, then resurrected. An evil and adulterous generation means what? Research it yourself using a Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance and other tools for study]. The universe and all that is in it is not something that just happened; it is there for all to see. We know it exists; it has a purpose, a reason for its' existence. Some can see this, some can't. Those with eyes to see and ears to hear can just look around and see and hear all the proof they need; Gods fingerprints are everywhere. Does this make one better than the other? No, we are all God's children. I heard someone say something the other night on a religious channel that sounded very similar to this very topic. The person basically said, “If you are real Jesus, show me, I need proof.” In other words, I need to see a sign before I believe. Reminds me of doubting Thomas again. Study your bibles often and completely, connect the dots so to speak. How can you get a more complete picture of God’s word?  | |
