For the last few months of the year, we embrace our harvest whatever it may be
Harvest Fest! And we find lots of events and opportunities to celebrate. Call it a Harvest Fest! Visions come to me of Autumn sunrises bringing, shafts of light filtering over mountain forests picking up hints of gold among the green leaves; of Birds chirping overhead with insistent cheerfulness of Honeysuckle clinging to fences. And, memories of fields as farmers harvest the last of summer hay. Bailors rumbling along to bind up the field harvest. If you have a garden it means picking the fruit and vegies and putting them up or freezing, or giving them away. It's great to look forward to fresh apple pie, or applesauce! And, of course, the zucchini recipes are many. Fresh corn-on-the-cob, garden tomatoes and so much more. "For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven . . a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted." (Ecclesiastes 3:1-2)
