As per the latest trade data, the grade was trading at Rs.156/kg on July 12, which has now risen to Rs.160/kg by July 14. This reflects a Rs.4/kg increase within just two days, highlighting growing bullish sentiment in the domestic rubber market. According to market participants, the price surge is largely attributed to strong procurement activity from tyre manufacturers, automotive component producers, and industrial rubber goods manufacturers. The demand from Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) has remained firm, which has supported a rise in raw material consumption, particularly in the western region markets like Mumbai. On the supply side, constraints from key Southeast Asian rubber-producing countries, especially Malaysia and Indonesia, have played a crucial role in tightening availability. Both nations are among the largest exporters of Standard Malaysian Rubber (SMR 20) and have been experiencing production challenges due to labor shortages and inconsistent weather conditions, including excessive rainfall affecting tapping activities.
