Mumbai, August 20, 2025 – The Mumbai jute market witnessed an upward trend as prices of Raw Jute TD-5 increased significantly by Rs. 4 per quintal within a single day. As per trade reports, the product was quoted at Rs. 77 on August 19 ,2025, rising to Rs. 81 on August 20 ,2025. This jump highlights strong demand dynamics and market corrections at a time when supply-side constraints and rising procurement activities are shaping the jute industry outlook. According to India petrochem, the steady increase is influenced by higher mill demand, export orders, and firm buying interest from traders in anticipation of further tightness in supply. Raw Jute TD-5 is a widely used grade in the textile and packaging sectors. Being one of the middle grades of jute, it offers a balance of quality and cost, making it suitable for manufacturing sacks, ropes, mats, carpets, hessian cloth, and diversified jute products. The grade is especially valued for its durability and eco-friendly nature, which aligns with the increasing global preference for sustainable alternatives to plastics.
