On June 19, the material was priced at Rs.142 per kilogram, which fell to Rs.140 per kilogram on June 20 — showing a Rs.2/kg drop in just one day. Market sources report that this price correction is primarily due to softening demand from the flexible packaging sector, particularly in the food and FMCG industries. In addition, an increase in the availability of both imported and locally manufactured film has led to price competition among suppliers. With raw material costs, especially polypropylene, remaining relatively stable, producers are passing on the benefit to attract buyers and clear inventory.
