Mumbai, July 28, 2025, The price of Polyamide 6 (PA6) Grade M28RC has recorded an upward movement in the Mumbai plastics raw material market. As per market sources, the grade was trading at Rs.186 per kg on July 26, which rose to Rs.189 per kg on July 28, indicating a Rs.3/kg increase within a span of two days. Market participants attribute the price rise to improved demand from downstream sectors such as automotive components, electrical housings, and industrial machinery parts, where PA6 is widely used due to its strength, durability, and thermal resistance. Alongside domestic consumption, firm global caprolactam prices — the primary raw material for PA6 — have contributed to the current cost push. Industry insiders report that the supply of PA6 in India remains balanced, but procurement activity has picked up due to concerns over future price hikes. Some buyers are also restocking inventories in anticipation of continued firming in international resin prices. Traders in the Mumbai market suggest that the momentum could sustain if input costs remain stable and demand continues at the current pace. “Prices are not rising sharply, but gradual increases like this are a sign of steady market confidence,” said a local distributor.
