What is true love? | |
Charity = (True love, not feigned love) love, affection or benevolence. Word # G26 in a Strong's Concordance. 1 Corinthians 13:4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, [True love is patient, kind and is not envious of others. It is truly humble; no brag just fact]. 1 Corinthians 13:5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; [True love doesn't act indecent by demanding its own way; doesn't have to be in charge; it keeps no record of being wronged. It is not easily angered. True love thinks good things]. 1 Corinthians 13:6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; [Love doesn't rejoice in any kind of sin. It does rejoice when truth comes forth]. 1 Corinthians 13:7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. [Love bears all things and never gives up. It never loses faith, it is always hopeful, and endures all situations]. 1 Corinthians 13:8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away. [True love never fails, but many other things do]. I need to read and study the above verses continually, to hopefully gain a better understanding. It helps me to become a better person as well.
